Bark beetle Scolytus carpini

Beetle in size approx. 3 - 3.5 mm. Mathernal corridor horizontal, about 3 cm long, larval corridors go down and up. Gallery system very similar to those of S. intricatus. One generation per year, beetles are on the wings in June.
