Root and crown rot
A soil-borne fungal pathogen, infecting fine or thicker roots of transplants, young plantations and mature trees as well as their trunk bases. The main symptoms of infection are tarry stains, flame-shaped necrotic cambium and degradation of the whole forest stand. They prefer mainly wet (streamside) and gleyed soils.
